As per Census in 1901 Kerala had over 70%+ Hindu population. After independence Census in 1951 the population showed 62% (-8% drop). Fast Forward to latest census in 2011 population percentage showed Hindus were 54.5 (-7.5%).

Going based on this by next 2–3 decades the Malayali Hindu population is expected to fall below 48%

These are all some of the reasons that may contribute to it.

As per new Birthrates study in 2015 Hindus contributed 42.87% child births, Muslims 41.5% and Christians 15.42%. Even though Hindus constitute 54.9 per cent of the total population in Kerala, Muslims 26.6 per cent and Christians 18.4 per cent as per 2011 census. This indicates that even though Hindus are twice the population of Muslims in the state their Birthrates are near the equal and population of Hindus is decreasing and not even suitable for replacement level. Birthrates showed generally even for Christians inline with their total population.

So in general Hindu population is somehow constantly decreasing. These are all based on Government Statistics and other data.

Factors:

Low birthrates and late births compared to their other religion counterparts.
Hindus Migrating and settling in other states of India.
Immigration and settlement in Western countries.
Conversion and other factors: Hindus generally don’t proselytize especially Kerala Hindus. But many people from Hinduism convert to other religions like Islam/Christianity.
and Finally
Hindu Males and Females are just not getting married in numbers like they used to due to various factors like insistence of Matching of Horoscope and Caste.

This is where SreeSwayamvara seeks to make a difference, we are welcoming those into our portal who are ready to look beyond the insistence of Caste and Horoscope match.
